1. Brief introduction:

Wheelset is the part of a locomotive and rolling stock that comes into contact with a steel rail, consisting of two wheels firmly pressed onto the same axle. The function of wheelsets is to ensure the operation and steering of locomotives and vehicles on the steel rails, bear all static and dynamic loads from locomotives and vehicles, transmit them to the steel rails, and transfer the loads generated by uneven tracks to various components of locomotives and vehicles. In addition, the driving and braking of locomotives and vehicles are also operated through wheelsets. There are strict requirements for the assembly pressure and pressing process of the axle and wheel, and the distance between the inner side of the standard gauge wheelset must be ensured to be within the range of 1353 ± 3 millimeters. To ensure smooth operation of locomotives and vehicles, reduce wheel rail interaction forces and running resistance, the machining ovality and eccentricity of axle necks and wheel treads, as well as the taper of axle necks, shall not exceed the prescribed limits.

Based on the application, wheelsets could be classified as locomotive wheelset, passenger coach wheelset and wagon wheelset. And wagon wheelsets could be further classified into type B, C, D, E according to the different max. permitted axle loads.

We could assembly the wheelsets comply with standards of AAR, UIC, EN, GOST, IRIS, KSR, BS, JIS, TB/T. The wheels diameter ranges from 350mm to 1250mm. The rail gauges could be 1000mm, 1067mm, 1435mm, 1520mm, 1676mm and etc.  The wheelset max. axle load ranges from 13t to 35t.
