Self steering bogie is a heavy-duty bogie suitable for small curve radius lines. Radial bogie can reduce wheel flange wear and lateral force while ensuring sufficient linear stability, reducing fuel consumption of locomotives, reducing running noise and environmental pollution while ensuring sufficient linear stability.
Self steering bogie is guided by creep force between wheel and rail. When the bogie enters the curve, the creep force generated between the wheel and rail makes the wheel set "automatically" enter the radial position of the curve. The self-guiding mechanism allows radial or octagonal displacement of the wheel set, but limits rhombic displacement, thus ensuring sufficient linear motion stability of the bogie, obtaining excellent curve passing performance, reducing flange wear and lateral force, and minimizing the maintenance cost of the wheel and the specification.
The self steering bogie is a cast steel three piece freight wagon bogie. The side frame is located on the sub frame through the rubber spring, and the sub frame is connected with the diagonal tie rod to form the self guiding mechanism of the bogie. The bogie is mainly composed of wheel sets, rolling bearing devices, side frames, bolsters, central suspension devices, foundation braking devices, constant base contact elastic side bearings and self guiding devices.
