The F-type interlocking coupler was developed in 1947 based on the H-type tight coupling designed for passenger cars and became the standard coupler set by the AAR in 1954.
Constructed from E-grade steel, the F coupler meets the AAR M201 standards, its profile aligns with AAR S117 specifications, and its manufacturing adheres to AAR M211 regulations.
The FR rotatable couplers were developed to fulfill the needs of unloading bulk goods such as coal without needing to uncouple or tip. Built on the F-type design, FR Interlock rotatable couplers are extensively used in heavy unit freight wagons and have greatly enhanced transportation efficiency.
