GK Triple Valve Three-way Control Valve Air Brake Control Valve Chinese Railway Wagons

1. Brief introductions:

The GK type triple valve serves as the primary valve in the GK type air brake system, which became widely used in China during the 1960s. This valve is designed for freight cars that carry loads of 50 tons and 60 tons, and it is well-suited for long trains.

Connected to the train's brake pipe, auxiliary air reservoir, and brake cylinder, the GK type three-way control valve manages air flow to activate or release the train's brakes. The main piston of this valve has six operational settings: the slow inflation release position, full inflation release position, standard full braking position, standard emergency braking position, neutral braking position, and emergency braking position.

The GK type triple valve functions as a slide valve that incorporates a metal piston ring. Its main components include a transmission section, an action section, a deceleration section, and an emergency section. Within the transmission section, you'll find parts like the transfer rod and transfer spring. The action section contains the main piston, control valve, and slide valve, among others. In the deceleration section, there is a slow down spring sleeve positioned inside. The emergency section is equipped with components such as the emergency piston, emergency piston seat, emergency valve, and outer spring for the emergency valve, as well as the check valve and its spring. The valve body features various holes, grooves, and channels in the slide valve, slide valve seat, and control valve. When the main piston moves the slide valve and control valve along the slide valve seat, it creates an air passage that enables braking or releasing actions.
