GS9 Railway sulfuric acid tank wagon is specially designed for 1067mm cape gauge rail lines in African customers. It is usually used to transport concentrated sulfuric acid. Its design meets the requirements of strong corrosiveness, high density, and safe transportation of sulfuric acid.
We are able to design the brake system and coupler system of the tank wagons to be compatible with their existing locomotives and wagons. The railway tank wagon adopts top loading and top unloading operation method.

The tank wagon is mainly composed of components such as chassis, tank body, side ladder and roof walkway assembly, tank to chassis assembly, braking device, coupler buffer device, bogie, etc. The main bearing structure is Q450NQR1 high-strength weathering steel.
(1) Under frame
The chassis is mainly composed of the middle beam, the bolster, the cross beam, the stopper, the upper side bearing, the footrest, the end beam, and the side beam. The full-length middle and side beam structure is adopted. The middle beam is made of hot-rolled 310 B-shaped steel with a yield strength of 450MPa; the side beam is made of atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel to form a trough structure; the bolster is welded into a variable-section box structure by upper and lower cover plates and double webs; stoppers are provided at both ends of the chassis to provide two-way protection for the tank body.
(2) Tank assembly
The tank body is mainly composed of a head, a cylinder, a manhole, a liquid extraction pipe, an air inlet pipe, an acid-proof guide plate, an upper saddle, a liquid collection nest, etc. The cylinder body is a cylindrical fully welded steel structure with an inner diameter of φ2200mm. A manhole with a diameter of 500mm is set on the top of the tank body. The liquid extraction pipe, air inlet pipe, etc. are installed on the top of the tank body. Acid-proof guide plates are set on both sides of the tank body. A liquid collection nest is set at the bottom of the tank body.
(5) Brake device
The brake system adopts UIC standard single-pipe progressive brake system that complies with UIC standards. The system mainly consists of a distribution valve KE2cSL, brake pipeline, 12” brake cylinder, auxiliary air cylinder 75L, brake regulator DRV2A-600H, angle plug 1 1/4”, brake hose connector, etc.
It adopts Chinese NSW hand brake machine, whose hand wheel diameter 400mm, brake ratio is 27. The mounting height could be adjusted according to customer requirements
(6) Coupler buffer device
The coupler adopts the AAR F70DE coupler, with a contour standard of AAR 10-A. Its material and mechanical properties meet the relevant requirements of AAR. The buffer adopts Chinese MT-3 type buffer, with a buffer capacity of no less than 45KJ, and the yoke is Y45AE made of cast alloy steel.
(7) Cape gauge bogie
It adopts broad gauge 1520mm bogie developed by ourselves. The bogie adopts two-stage stiffness springs. Lower center plate’s diameter is φ 355mm, equipped with conductive core plate wear plate. The bearing is 353130B compact bearing complies with document [2006] No. 21 of the transportation and loading truck. The axle adopts LZ50 steel. The φ957mm wheels comply with grade 3 of GOST10791-2011 standard. The basic braking device adopts austenitic bainite ductile iron lining and combined braking beam.The bogie is our self-developed small radius bogie, could pass 65m radius rail line. It is a three piece cast steel ride control type bogie, which adopts a control type inclined wedge damping device. The main components include wheelset assembly, bolster assembly, side frame assembly, bearing assembly, bearing adapter, foundation braking device, bearing spring, wedge vibration reduction, lower side bearing, and other components. The performance of the bogie meets the evaluation requirements of GB/T5599, and the strength design meets the requirements of TB/T1335.
1st batch: 3 to 4 months 20-30 sets; later batches: 20-30 sets per month.
Nude packing, each wheel is on iron shoes.
