GCY-300 heavy duty rail car is mainly used to tow and shunt on railway, special lines and city rail transit railway lines.
The railcar adopts typical shunt locomotive layout, engine rooms are fitted at both ends and driver cab in the middle. It is installed with original US imported Caterpillar C11 electric injection diesel engine, which is environmental friendly and with low emission, low fuel consumption, no noise and high reliability. And transmission box is CAT 836G(Customs) hydraulic transmission box, featured by easy operation and high reliability. The power is 336kW(450hp), max. speed is 80km/h. Brake system adopts JZ-7 air brake system. It is fitted with two 2-axle bogies. Chinese No.13 coupler and ST buffer are fitted at both ends.
The control system is highly intelligent and neatly connected. It is easy to diagnose the failures and execute the maintenance work. The functions of speed adjustment, data indication, auto gear shifting, running data, engine automatic protection, diagnose and alarming functions are provided.
